Cell: stills from the artificial life prototype (February 2003)

|
The stills are from the autonomous system of virtual stem cells that can be seen moving and replicating in real time. Undifferentiated stem cells are white, as chromosomes are switched off as the stem cells become more differentiated via replication, the cells change colour. The cells die off once fully differentiated. This model will be expanded to illustrate Theise's "paradigm shift" theory of stem cell behaviour, and then an art installation will be developed. |
