The Blot Series was shown in the second of the four adjacent spaces. This is a series of 4 large photographic prints that are responses to specific landscapes which Prophet has visited as part of her image gathering activities, such places include the contrasting landscapes of The Lafarge Exshaw aggregate plant on the shore of Lac des Arc Alberta, Canada and the Corus steelworks at Port Talbot, Wales. This developing series combines reflecting pools and natural sublime landscapes with icons of the industrial or technological sublime (cathedrals of industry such as steel works and power station). By using wireline images to suggest interventions past and future, Prophet is able to connect technologies and terrains across 200 years which begin to questioning our understand of the real.
