Seeing objects at different scales also affects our perception. The actual scale of cells is hard to imagine as it is beyond the range of the naked eye, but it is also comprehended as part of our intimate body-space. In the installation, the large (6m x 4m) still image of the digital cell simulation (shown here) is offset against the detailed animation on the monitor and the projected tree against the tree form in the tank, and they jostle for our awareness.
