Staining Space

Frequently we deal with visualising the invisible, but we are not always aware of the simplifications that take place. Magnification may result in one such simplification, or reducing the representation of three dimensions as two dimensions, or taking a snapshot out of time. Subjectivities and selective processes will influence not only how we chose to represent processes but how we observe them. Staining tissue samples gives a heightened visual awareness of some areas of the sample but obscures others.
